Pretzel Rod Sparklers for 4th of July

Print Friendly

My two favorite holidays are 4th of July and Christmas. For as long as I can remember, my family has gotten together to have a pool party and a bbq on 4th of July. The day is always filled with great music, great food, karaoke, dancing, fun and of course, great food. I’m already so excited for this year and am praying that I get the holiday off. I didn’t get the weekend of Memorial Day off and I was pretty bummed, so hopefully I can make up for it for 4th of July.

One of the snacks I plan to take this year are these delicious pretzel rod sparklers. They are super easy to make and can be displayed or packaged as a party favor! They’re also great for kids, because what kid doesn’t like chocolate and sprinkles?

These are so good and are definitely going to be a new tradition for our family bbqs!

Pretzel Rod Sparklers

Like I said, these are super easy to make.  And you only need a few “ingredients!”

Pretzel Rod Sparkler Ingredients

  • Pretzel Rods
  • Fruit dipping chocolate or candy melts
  • Sprinkles
  • A plate/dish to set the pretzels in

I ended up not using the icing, but you could also drizzle the icing over the pretzels with a zip lock bag and the corner cut off.

I found it easier to pour my chocolate into a bowl and gently roll the pretzel in the chocolate.

Just make sure you coat the pretzel evenly and leave a little bit at the end without chocolate on it.

Then, sprinkle your sprinkles over each pretzel rod. Then gently rest the pretzel against the edge of the plate. I found that if I held it for about twenty seconds and then rested it, the chocolate had hardened enough that it didn’t make much of an indention at all in the chocolate.

And that’s it!

You can display them in a pretty cup or jar.

Or place them in a cellophane bag and tie with a ribbon for a great party favor!

And best of all? These are husband approved!

What’s your favorite dish to take to family get togethers?
