The premise is simple. We all have pet peeves and we tend to like to talk about them, a lot. This is your place to do that. We like to keep our blogs friendly and nice and happy, at least most of us do. But sometimes, you just need to let your hair down and gripe for a bit!
For now, this link up will be every Monday and each week will be a different topic (listed above). If you have a topic idea, email it to me! This link up will keep on going until it's become something we all gripe about!
Today's Topic: Social Media and Blogging
So what are the rules?
1. Use this pretty button in your post.
Why? Because I made it and it's the polite thing to do.
2. Follow Me and your Co-Host!
Want to cohost? Email me!
3. Keep it clean people.
NO NAMECALLING!!! If I see it, I will remove it and you will get a nice email from me telling you that you should probably edit your post before someone gets their feelings hurt.
4. Go check out other posts and see what you have in common with people!
5. Tweet about it, share it on facebook, sing it from the rooftops!
Oh, social media. It's what makes the world go 'round. And blogging? I mean, clearly, I love it! But there are some drawbacks.
We'll start with blogging in general:
It drives me absolutely insane that people are all of a sudden bashing blogger because it seems to be the cool thing to do to switch to word press. I'll be waving my blogger flag high for a long time, people!
Going along with that, I hate when people blame blogger for stuff that is actually just a simple mistake. I've only had a few mess ups actual blogger. Most of my mess ups, like sidebars moving, posts being published before I wanted them to, etc are because of me and my little click happy fingers.
Blogging is like high school. There, I said it. Now wear pink on Wednesday, or you can't sit with us!
Blogging is great. I love talking to all of you and sharing my life with you all, but can we cool it with all the blogger networking sites and social media sites in general? I've got twitter, facebook, instagram, bloglovin' and pinterest and I'm constantly being asked to join "Bloggers" "SouthernBlogger" etc. No. Just No. Too many log ins.
No reply bloggers. Enough Said.
Stuck up bloggers. Every single blogger has been at the beginning so stop being mean and ignoring small blogs. It makes you ugly.
I will say, on the flip side of that, I'm friends with a lot of bloggers because they were around when I started. I'm not trying to exclude anyone, I'm just really good friends with them so I talk to them on twitter and gchat more. Doesn't mean anything, kay?
Now on to the thing we love and love to hate: Social Media
I hate that facebook is so confusing these days. When I had to make my new facebook fanpage when I switched my name, the process of adding apps to my favorites is ridiculous. I have yet to figure it out. I can search for apps all day and add them to my personal page, but not my fan page.
Okay, let's just be honest. Facebook is on it's way out. Google+ and Twitter are where it's at.
There should be a few grace characters on twitter. I get the 140 character thing is part of it's charm but come on, can't I just have 145?
Klout drives me crazy. The end.
STOP pinning things on pinterest from pages that do not contain instructions!
I think that's all I've got for today! I really hope you link up!
Do you agree with any of these?
What are YOUR pet peeves? (Link them up!)
One thing I don't hate is music! I recently signed up for a music swap at The K.O. Story and I was paired with Renee @ This Won't Hurt a Bit.
I was super excited because I hadn't really talked to her very much but I knew she was a nurse and I love meeting other nurse bloggers!
She sent me an awesome CD packed with some awesome songs. My faves have to be Scream & Shout by Will.I.Am. and Britney Spears and Work Hard, Play Hard by Wiz Khalifa and of course, All She Wants to do is Dance by Don Henley...b/c I just like dancing! but I also love that she included some Pearl Jam, Death Cab for Cutie and so much more because there's such a mix of music on the cd!
Thanks so much Renee! I hope you liked your cd!
If you like mixed cds and swaps, you should definitely participate in this one! It's practically free and it's a great way to meet new bloggers!

Have you met this amazing blogger?

Paige, yes, I feel like everyone these days are heading to Wordpress, but I'm really happy with Blogger :D I hate that on twitter, just to get my statement across it's usually a run-on sentence! Hahahaha awful!!
Thanks for sharing your pet-peeves! I'm sure a lot of us agree!
Um...as I was reading, it's like my entire life you've summed up. Everything you picked I was like yes, Yes, YES!! You nailed it! Now I have to find new peeves to write so people don't think I just copied and pasted your blog!!
xoxo Amber
Obviously Obsessed
No reply bloggers frustrate me too, but I realize that it's just because they probably don't know. So if I have a blogger that comments to me a lot, I go to her blog and write a comment referring her to a blog I read a while back that explains how to connect your e-mail, they're usually really grateful because they just didn't know. I can't stand the stuck-up bloggers either. I've run into a few of them myself and even though I still love their blog, I comment less and dislike them less because I felt like I was literally in middle school and the last kid picked for gym class! You get over it though because there are so many other great bloggers out there, so who cares!
Stuck up bloggers are the worst. Luckily I've only encountered a few since I've been a part of the blog world.
I agree with you. I have only had problems with blogger in December (like most other people seemed to have!) and I have had several blogs on blogger throughout many years! They fixed it, and I think all platforms will have some problems. I think the thing with no reply is that they really don´t know. It took me a long time to figure that out too!
"I think we'll be friends forever because we're too lazy to find new friends" is probably my favorite of the ecards (because of how true it is), but all of them are so great!
I'm so glad you enjoyed the swap! How cool is it that you were paired with a nurse? I didn't even plan that! It looks and sounds like you got a great mix :) Thanks for joining in with me this month!
Thanks for sharing all your pet peeves on Social Media. I agree with most of them and them Some Cards made me giggle! The only thing I dislike about Twitter is that I wish there was a way to unfollow people who follow you, without having to block them. I don't want to block them, I just wish they wouldnt follow me. Idk, its a pet peeve.
OMG, the pinterest one is soooo true and I hate it! I should have included that on mine. haha
Krystle, new follower! :)
do I like any of these? you already know I agree on ALL of them since we've previously bitched about all of these things to eachother before. hahha love you!
Haha. I love the pinterest comment. I totally hate when I click on something I want to make and there aren't directions!!! :-)
I don't know where to start with how much I loved and agreed with this post.
Blogging very much is like high school. It seems like if you are food blogger that has been accepted by Foodgawker more times you have to act superior than the ones who still take photos with their point-and-shoots. And OMG I can't even get a response from some of the bigger beauty bloggers.
I hate that Facebook has changed it's stuff and now is on it's way out. I just can't figure out Google+ lol :(
I LOVE all the memes! They are all SO true. Especially the FB throat punch one. SO true.
YES!!!! Gah, I agree with every stinking one of these!
