Tuesday10: 10 Things I Love About Memphis

Hey everyone! It's time for my LAST Tuesday10. After this week, Lena is taking it back. It's alright though, because I am about tapped on ideas! I don't know how she does it but it has been fun hosting it while she takes a break!
Anyway, this topic is 10 things you love about where you live, so no, you aren't writing about Memphis...unless you live there. Then write about Memphis.
Alright, I'm not going to lie. I've lived here my entire life and I can't wait to move away. My dream is to move to Texas. I really have no idea why, because I've never been to Texas. So, for me this topic is definitely a challenge to write about what I do love. I'm hoping that it will make me appreciate where I live while I live here.
(1)
There are some genuinely nice people here. Once, my friend had driven into this puddle, back in the TN flood a few years back and we were stuck. We floated in the puddle for an hour while people kept driving past us. This old man pulled up next to the puddle, finally, and asked if we needed help. He then used his truck to push us out of the puddle. He was so great! We didn't even get his name, but I'm always going to remember him.
(2)
I may complain about not having a LUSH or an H&M but in reality, Memphis does have some great shopping!
(3)
The bbq! Of course! Nothing beats Memphis bbq! Don't even try.
(4)
I love how even though Memphis is pretty technologically advanced, we still value the old things like being grateful for what you have and some down home southern cooking!
(5)
Let's be honest. Our accents are great! It makes the guys sound sexy and the girls sound sweet! There's just enough Southern to them without sounding horrid.
(6)
For some reason, our university here decided that we needed to have all these random tiger structures. No idea why, but I guess they are fun to look at.

(7)
We have the pink palace. Bam!
(I dug through 3 years worth of pics to find a pic of the pink palace, but you're just going to have to google it!)

(8)
This is more of a general TN thing, but we have some great talent coming out of our state! Elvis, anyone?
And some more questionable talent like Dolly Parton and 36Mafia

(9)
Memphis in May Musicfest
Get ready for 3 days of mud, rain, beer and good music.
Also, rain boots and booty shorts are a requirement if you're a girl.
I had never met these people before in my life but they are amazing! Musicfest is a great place to meet random strangers that become friends!

Okay again, let's just be honest. We have some amazing food!
What do you love about where you live? Write a post and link it up!

LOVE IT!! haha every single part of it!!! I imagine you knew I would :)

If my boyfriend (the tiger fanatic) is right, I believe the tigers are for the 100th anniversary of the University. So, they made 100 all designed differently, displayed them on campus for a while and now they're scattered around town.

I have a confession to make. I've never had Memphis barbeque. GASP! I don't eat meat soooo it's kind of hard haha one day though I'm sure it'll happen.

I've also never been to the pink palace... it's on my list though!

I love the nice people too :) definitly a welcome change from New Jersey (not that NJ is bad, just different)

Cute!
I'd love to actually visit Memphis someday... I could have written a post entitled the very same thing... but about a very different Memphis! ;)

Thank you so much for taking over for me! I hope you'll link up next week! And let me know if you ever want to co-host! ;)
