No Reply Bloggers, I got ya covered!

I always say that I LOVE getting comments and I really really do. I always get them on my phone and then if it's something that needs to be replied to, I go get on my computer if I'm home and reply right then.

So why do some of you not get replies?

You don't have your email showing on your blogger profile!

It's super easy to fix this.

Click on your blogger profile, click edit and then make sure "show my email" is checked

I also get a ton of comments that are asking me to go check out their blog. If they ask nicely and it seems like me and the person have something in common, I'm fine with checking out their blog!

So, when I get on my computer, I get my merry way over to their blogger profile.

and...

their blog isn't there! So, I can't check out your blog, which means you think I ignored you. I swear I didn't, I just can't find your blog!

To fix this:

This is what the text I added on the picture says:
Step 1: Click "Select blogs to display"
You'll be looking at the bottom of the picture
Step 2: Make sure the box next to your blog is checked
Step 3: Save Settings

And then you're done! And EVERYONE in blog land can reply to your replies and follow your request to look at your own blog.

I hope this helps! I really hate not replying to blog comments and then I usually go reply directly under that comment on the post, but since I never get a reply, I assume the person doesn't know to go look at the post they commented on and they think I just didn't care enough to reply which is not true at all.

Here is the reason why it's so important to have your email visible: (Copied and Pasted from an email I sent to someone earlier today!)
"They can comment on your blog but when you comment on others' blogs, the person can't reply to your comment without having your email visible.

If you don't want your personal email visible, just make another email account from a free client like yahoo or gmail!

Most bloggers do not go back and comment under the post you comment on b/c the person commenting will probably not remember you commented.

Basically, having your email visible will allow other bloggers to interact with you, which means more will want to read your blog."

Update: If you don't have a blog, the easiest way to make your email visible is to sign up for a blogger account and comment through that account! You don't have to have a blog to have a blogger account. This was brought up in a comment about how to make your email visible through google+. Unfortunately, I don't know of a way so I asked another blogger and she couldn't find anything out either. That was the best solution we could find.

Update2: If you have a blogger account and use that to comment, BUT your account is linked to your google+ account, you are automatically a no-reply blogger. To fix this, visit this tutorial made by my friend Kristina from The Streeters Unlimited and she'll get you fixed up.

I'm glad that you posted this! I've actually noticed quite a bit lately that I'll get a no reply email but then click on the name to at least check out the blog and reply, to find that there's no blog on the profile. I definitely want to make sure people are getting my replies! Thanks :)

Love this!! Hopefully the next thing people do is take off their comment moderator! I am not a fan of those :)

This, plus comment moderation, plus handwriting fonts (for the blog post font) are my biggest pet peeves. OH and people who put music in the background of their posts. WTF

Can I ask why making your e-mail address visible is important? Can't people comment on my blog without needing to know my e-mail address? Just curious.
